A Space Birthday Party: Your Own Private Rocket for 20 Guests
Balloons and a rocket cake are a good start. The highlight is the moment everyone counts down together and the rocket lifts off: with a LIFTONAUT private rocket, up to 20 guests board one simulated flight, each in their own seat, and every one of them lands with a certificate.

A private rocket is a LIFTONAUT flight reserved for your group. You choose the tour, the departure time and a mission name, and share one link and one code. Guests can be in the same room or in different cities: they all board the same rocket.
It works for birthdays, family gatherings and team events, and it is a simulation, so it is safe, calm and ready whenever you are.
Why a rocket flight makes a great party activity
It gives the party a shared moment. Everyone hears the GO/NO-GO poll, counts down from ten and watches the same launch, then talks about what they saw: the booster flying back, the plush zero-g indicator floating, Saturn's rings.
It is also an activity that suits mixed ages. Younger kids enjoy the countdown and the cameras; older ones watch the speed and altitude on the instruments; adults like the real photos and the science behind them.
How a private rocket works: link, code, up to 20 guests
Guests join with one link
After booking you get a short link and an eight-character code to send to your guests. Children do not need an account: they open the link, enter the code, choose a suit color and a seat, and wait in the cabin.
Pick a tour that fits the age
For young children, the Moon is short, about 10 minutes. For older kids and adults, the Grand Tour visits every planet in about 26 minutes.
Count down together
As the organizer you run Mission Control: you see the passenger list, admit guests, pause the crew chat if needed and start the countdown when everyone is ready. The launch follows 45 seconds later.
Plan the party: timing, tour and the countdown moment
- Book a few days ahead and pick a departure time that leaves room for arrivals and cake.
- Send the link and code with the invitation, so guests can test their device before the party.
- Give every guest a screen: a laptop, a tablet or a phone each, so everyone gets a seat. A big TV for the birthday child makes a great main screen.
- Make the countdown the moment: dim the lights, start the poll from Mission Control and count down from ten together.

Add the extras: certificates and mission names
Give the flight a mission name, such as the birthday child's name, and it appears on the boarding passes. After landing, every guest who boarded gets a flight certificate with their name, the mission, the date and the simulated distance flown.
A private rocket costs less per seat than individual tickets: 20% off with 10 seats and 30% off with 20. For 20 guests on the Grand Tour that is €69.99; a 10-seat Moon rocket costs €15.99. Prefer to give the flight as a present? See space gift ideas.
Space party questions
How do I plan a space-themed birthday party?
Pick a time, add space decorations and food, and build the party around one shared activity. A private simulated rocket flight works well: guests board with one link, count down together and land with a certificate.
Can I host a space party online?
Yes. With a LIFTONAUT private rocket, guests in different homes board the same flight with one link and one code, see the same launch and chat with the crew.
How many guests fit in a private rocket?
Up to 20. You can also book a 10-seat private rocket for a smaller group.
How long does the flight last?
From about 10 minutes for Earth Orbit and 10 for the Moon to about 26 minutes for the Grand Tour, from the GO/NO-GO poll to landing.
What age is it suitable for?
Children from about six enjoy it most, with adults nearby. No account is needed for the guests, the chat removes links and phone numbers automatically, and under-18s never see other passengers' photos.
